CARB Compliance

CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliance means your equipment meets the current emission standards set by CARB. CARB-compliant equipment produces fewer harmful emissions, toxins and particulates, resulting in cleaner and safer air quality. CARB works to limit the use of: Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide (CO2).

CARB Offers 3 types of compliance certificates:

CARB Truck and Bus regulation

CARB evaluates engine emissions and is responsible for ensuring that vehicles operating in the state of California meet state emission standards.

Transport refrigeration Unit(TRU or REEFER) Regulation

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) continues to increase stringency in reducing emissions and air pollutants for Transportation Refrigeration Units (TRU), which are mobile refrigeration units designed to cool or heat products in transport.

Clean truck check

It is a regulation to test heavy-duty vehicles' emissions control systems for proper operation. Clean Truck Check applies to nearly all diesel and alternative fuel heavy-duty vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) over 14,000 pounds that operate on California public roads.

FAQ's

The regulation requires older heavy vehicles (diesel trucks and buses with a GVWR greater than 26,000 pounds) to be replaced with 2011-or-newer vehicles – or have vehicles fitted with 2010-or-newer model-year engines – by January 1, 2023.

Truck and bus regulations are broader, covering safety, operational, and environmental aspects, while clean truck checks specifically target emissions reduction. Regulations aim for overall vehicle safety and operational standards, whereas clean truck checks focus on environmental impact reduction through emissions control.
